Rate scripture relevance on existing questions

Firstly it is good to open the existing questions and rank the scriptures according to your view of their relevance to the question, this will help keep the most pertinent scriptures to the fore.

To rank the scriptures simply click on one of the five stars to the right of each the scriptures and your ranking will then be included in the overall site ranking. A single star is for a scripture that is only slightly relevant and 5 stars signifies a very relevant scripture. The black square refers to a scripture that you think should be removed from the list as it is not relevant at all to the question.

Note that the coloured bar to the left of the scriptures is a scale of the overall site ranking that has been formed from the average value of the rankings made by each individual member.

Each scripture list is formed around a question and your ranking is designed to keep those scriptures that are most useful for answering the question to the fore. Avoid the temptation to give the highest rankings to your favourite scriptures even though they are not that relevant to the actual question.

Start a new question

Secondly if you have an idea for a new question, please form a short concise question that you desire scripture to answer and use that as the title question. Then proceed to add as many relevant scriptures to that list as you can to get the ball rolling.

By having the topic defined by a question we are able to have more concise subjects and the relevance of each scripture is easier to define in relationship to the title question. Also questions are never false in themselves and imply a search for understanding which is an appropriate stance in which to approach scripture.

Using the scripture lists

The list of scriptures associated with a question is complete when it contains all the scriptures relevant to the question in the correct order from most relevant to least relevant. It is important to understand that using an incomplete scripture list may guide you to an incomplete understanding if important elements of God's word are missing from the list.
