What is Alltrue?

Alltrue is a website that facilitates the gathering of scriptures into question based lists that are then ordered by relevance. Based on the belief that the entire bible is inspired by God and therefore "all true" we encourage you firstly to participate in the creation of the lists then to use them to shape your understanding on the title subject.

We apply the lists by firstly accepting that all the scriptures in them are true, from that foundation we can then use the unity of scripture to show us what understandings can or can not be true on any given subject.

When you have finished, your own understanding will be shaped by all the scriptures relevant to the given subject and most likely will be very similar to someone else who has followed the same process.

If we believe that all scripture is true and from the Holy Spirit, then it follows that any correct understanding or doctrine must not contradict any scriptures. If it does, then the understanding formed or the interpretation of the scripture is flawed or incomplete. Likewise, an understanding that agrees with all relevant scriptures can be true. Therefore when we are trying to get the full counsel of God on any given subject we need to locate as many scriptures on that subject as we can and form an understanding that agrees with them all.

The bible consists of many true statements that are relevant to any given subject that when viewed together help shape the true understanding of that subject in much the same way as a picture can be created from many dots. By using question based scripture lists we are effectively using the unity of scripture to help weed out the wrong interpretations and to form the correct understanding. Some scriptures will rule out possible understandings whilst others will build the case for an understanding, while still others will define exceptions and limits. When used together via a process of elimination, of building and shaping, the full understanding emerges from the text like a carving from the blank. The real strength of this process is that it removes a lot of the bad filtering that we inevitably put on scripture from our own world view and leads us to simply receive what is written.

The scriptures in the lists are ranked by you from the most to least relevant, those judged most relevant are positioned at the top of the list and those that are judged to be least relevant positioned at the bottom. This helps to keep the most pertinent scripture to the fore which helps you to use the lists from the top down. The lists are intended to be used by you with the help of the Holy Spirit to find the correct understanding on the subjects that the scriptures are gathered under.

Its important that you use the lists so that God can speak to you directly through His word. With the proliferation of false teaching towards the end times it is vital that we all have a good understanding of the bible or we are vulnerable and easily deceived.

At Alltrue we have formed an understanding from one list only as an example for you to use; the list is under the title question, Is scripture all true? From scripture we can clearly see that the answer is yes and believing that all scripture is inspired by God is required for using the scripture lists, therefore if you do not believe that all scripture is true then this site will be of little value to you. Please refer to this list and the understanding formed from it as our example of how you can use the other scripture lists on this site. Please note that this is only our effort of interpreting this scripture list and our goal is for it to be as good an example as it can be, so feel free to write to us if you think it can be improved.

This is the only list that we have provided an understanding for as this site is primarily about God's words being honoured above our own. This site promotes the authority of scripture and is a tool for you to use to rightly divide it, not a forum to debate doctrines.

We are currently using the King James Version because it is available without cost and well considered for its accuracy.
